Our mission to give back
Giving back, specifically feeding hungry people, is a HUGE part of our mission.
While we may be known mostly for our maintenance-free outdoor furniture and fine craftsmanship, something you might not know about us is our commitment to caring for the community. It is our strong desire to feed hungry people. Through FMSC, Second Harvest Heartland and many other local food collection agencies, we are honored to be a part of making sure the very basic needs of people are met.
We proudly partner locally with Second Harvest Heartland, Loaves & Fishes, Union Gospel Mission, Families Moving Forward, Meals on Wheels, Jordan Food Shelf & local school backpack organizations. We have a global heart as well. As a company we hold our Christmas Party at Feed My Starving Children each year spending our time packing food bags and filling as many boxes as we can during our two hour shift.
By the Yard values reaching people in our community and beyond. We are committed to continuing this mission as a part of our company growth strategy for many years to come. Helping, serving and sponsoring others with the goal of feeding people will always be at the forefront of our giving philosophy.
Please join us in collecting food shelf goods from now until Thanksgiving. Â Donations can be brought into our Jordan MN Showroom location during showroom hours. Â We have placed a dining table in the front of the store with the goal of filling it up with dry goods to take to Second Harvest Heartland. Â Items we can collect include:
- Canned tuna, chicken or salmon
- Peanut butter
- Meals in a can (soup, stew, chili)
- Low-sodium canned vegetables
- Canned fruit in its own juice or water
- Olive or canola oil
- Spices (cinnamon, chili powder, cumin, salt-free spice blends)
- Canned foods with pop-top lids
- Low-sugar whole grain cereals
- Healthy snacks (granola bars, nuts, dried fruit)
Follow along on Facebook and Instagram to see just how much food we can collect together to continue our mission of feeding hungry people, especially those within our own community.
